ANNOTATION: The staffing levels of correctional officers in the Nevada Department of Corrections is examined. Sections comprising this report are: agency's role and public purpose; scope and objective; agency response and implementation plan; time away from posts; compensating methods; evaluate increasing the relief factor; personnel costs; security concerns; sufficiency of data; and recommendation to evaluate increasing the relief factor. Appendixes include: "Department of Corrections Response and Implementation Plan," and "Timetable for Implementing Audit Recommendations." The agency agreed that the relief factor should be increased.
