ANNOTATION: The training needs of Virginia's juvenile detention facilities are measured. The following sections are in this text: study rationale; executive summary; introduction; methodology; results from the survey and regional focus group meetings; conclusions and recommendations; and sample copies of Detention Home Staffing Survey and Training Needs Assessment Survey. Several recommendations to improve detention staff training are reported.
