ANNOTATION: Important job duties and knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) needed for successful performance of job duties by California's Juvenile Corrections Officers are determined. Sections of this report are: introduction; method; analysis and results for characteristics of the sample, descriptive statistics, similarity between incumbent and supervisor ratings, identification of core job descriptions, and linking core tasks to critical KSAOs; and summary and conclusions. "A total of 36 KSAOs have been shown to be necessary at entry, important for successful job performance, and related to core and critical major activities and tasks" (p. 34).
