ANNOTATION: The recidivism of female inmates three years following release from state prisons is examined. Sections contained in this report include: abstract; introduction -- purpose, goals, objectives and relevant literature; the current study -- research design, methods, and analysis; describing characteristics of female prisoners and their recidivism; explaining and predicting female recidivism and criminal cases; implications for policy and practice; and correlation matrix. Rearrest occurred for 60% of the sample with only 30% returning to prison.
