ANNOTATION: Results from an examination of the Florida Department of Corrections' staffing levels and turnover are provided. Sections of this report are: scope; background; findings according to high separation and vacancy rates for the department, training reimbursements from departing officers, prison security has not been affected by correctional officer shortages, and the lack of a consistent staffing model; recommendations; and agency response.
