Redeploy Illinois Program Decreases Incarceration Rates Among Juveniles

ANNOTATION: The Second Judicial Circuit’s Redeploy Illinois project, which provides funding for juvenile-related community-based services, is evaluated. Sections of this report are: background; program performance; performance indicators -- program alignment, juvenile participation selection process, communication and program awareness, service options and providers, resource utilization, and assessment methods; program rewards and consequences; program impact indicators -- reduction in Illinois Department of Corrections’ commitments, program impact on juveniles, families, and victims, program services and sanctions, and program rewards and consequences; recommendations; and conclusions. After 10 months of implementation, this program should exceed the projected reductions in commitments by 25%.
