ANNOTATION: The impact on recidivism by varying control or treatment orientation of an intensive supervision program (ISP) is investigated. Sections following an abstract are: introduction; method; results; discussion; policy implications; limitations; and conclusion. "The findings reveal that supervision philosophy impacts program failure but not the re-arrest of intensive probationers" (p. 2).
