ANNOTATION: The impact of poverty and disadvantage on families and partners of prisoners is investigated. Sections of this report are: executive summary; the need to understand poverty and disadvantage among prisoners' families; bearing the costs of imprisonment; the assessment of current service responses to poverty and disadvantage; and conclusions. Imprisonment results in significant loss of family income, relationships, and childhood development, to name a few crisis and disruptions.
