ANNOTATION: Updated findings concerning the Ready4Work prisoner reentry initiative (a three-year national demonstration project providing reentry services to released prisoners) are reported. This brief is comprised of the following sections: what Ready4Work is; reentry in California; who enrolled in Ready4Work; outcomes for mentoring, program retention, employment, and recidivism; and a promising model. The recidivism rate for Ready4Work participants is 6.9% within one year compared to 10.4% nationally.
