| Cataloged on:
Jul. 17, 2007
ANNOTATION: Results from this annual evaluation of the Kings County Drug Treatment Alternative-to-Prison (DTAP) program are provided. This report is divided into three parts: program operations; program history and evaluation -- brief history of DTAP, outcomes for all screened defendants, court dispositions for refusals, rejects, and dropouts, screening, intake, and completion, retention, DTAP and community safety, DTAP and crime reduction, employment, cost-savings, and the family connection; and commentary. Participants of DTAP have a five-year post-treatment recidivism rate almost 50% less than non-participants, resulting in over $38 million in economic benefits.
