ANNOTATION: An examination of the Multnomah County Drug Court's operations and outcomes over a ten-year period is presented. In addition to an executive summary, this report includes these sections: introduction; drug court background; research design and methodology; results; answers to policy questions; summary/conclusion; description of drug court and non-drug court processing; and Adult Drug Court Typology Interview Guide. The recidivism rate for drug court participants was 30% lower five-years following petition hearing than the rate for non-participants, at a cost savings of $79 million.
