ANNOTATION: Recidivism (rearrest and recommitment) for released sex offenders and other felons over a three-year period is determined. Sections comprising this report are: overview; comparison of sex offender and other felon groups; summary of findings -- sex offenders; summary of findings -- other offenders; and appendixes of statistical data for sex offenders and other felons and definitions. The recommitment rate for sex offenders was only 28.1% compared to that for other offenders of 51.6%.
