ANNOTATION: The "risk of suicide and drug overdose death among recently released prisoners" is investigated (p. 1). Sections following an abstract are: methods; results according to suicide and drug-related deaths; and discussion. Deaths due to suicide and overdose peak at two weeks following release -- suicide at 3.87 times the rate at six months and 9.3 times the rate at six months for deaths due to overdose.
