ANNOTATION: "This study examines the results from the audio-enhanced CASA [Computerized Assessment of Substance Abuse] . . . to establish the assessment's ability to appropriately differentiate cases for program referral purposes" (p. 14). Sections following an executive summary include: introduction; rationale and purpose; method; results according to substance use prior to current offense(s), most frequently used drug types, total score across severity levels, and respondent ratings; discussion; and offense categories. Results from this study support the validity and use of CASA.
