ANNOTATION: The expansion Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training program, designed to "educate law enforcement and correctional officer teams to successfully identify mental health-based problems and appropriately intervene in psychiatric emergencies" is evaluated (p. 4). Ten sections comprise this report: executive summary; introduction; project background; methods; results; discussion; recommendations; appendix -- Focus Group Survey; appendix -- CIT Officer Survey (Pre/Post); and appendix -- Jail Incident Report. Overall, it appears that CIT is effective.
