ANNOTATION: Instructions for coding the inmate risk assessment instrument used by the Kansas Department of Corrections are presented. This manual is divided into two sections: general classification information and scoring instructions for inmate classification; and specific coding and scoring instruments for each item -- most serious current offense, time to serve in prison, severity of prior convictions, escape history, escape characteristics, institutional adjustment, current age, incentive level, total for point based items, non-point based items, special management needs, custody, condition violators, exception status, and final custody and revision date.
