ANNOTATION: Results are provided from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections' Education Outcome Study (EOS). Sections in addition to an executive summary are: introduction; study purpose; methodology; results for recidivism and employment outcomes; and conclusion. Appendixes include Informed Consent Form, Pre-Release Education Survey, Institutional/Education Case File Form, and Interview Letters and Forms. Participants have lower rearrest rates a year following release than do non-participants -- 23.6% versus 29.4% respectively.
