ANNOTATION: Findings from an evaluation of Criminal Justice Advisory Boards (CJABs) and recommendations for improving CJAB operations are provided. This report has these sections: introduction; overview; CJAB origins and development; leadership, staffing, and facilitation; membership and communications; role and process; issues and initiatives; success; and conclusion. "Some CJABs are struggling, and some have vocal critics, but there is an overwhelming consensus that CJABs serve important purposes" (p. 47).
