Publication year: 2007 | Cataloged on: Jul. 02, 2008
ANNOTATION: Results are provided from "a cross-sectional examination of the social and supportive services available for, and utilized by, individuals returning from prisons and jails back to Philadelphia neighborhoods" (p. 16). Sections contained in this report include: key findings; key implications, background; research questions; methods; and results according to ex-offender distribution, neighborhoods, organizations in study, differences by provider type in service profile of organizations, distribution of services, distribution of ratio of services to ex-offenders, types of services and level of intensity provided, least provided services, staffing, use of consultants, staff dedicated to reentry, funding, capacity to serve more, outreach, collaboration, and networks. Most ex-offenders' needs can be met by current human service organizations in Philadelphia, but coordination among organizations could be improved, and the capacity for additional services exists.
