Recidivism of Delaware Juvenile Sex Offenders Released in 2001

ANNOTATION: Re-arrest and re-incarceration rates at three and five years for juvenile sex offenders released from the Delaware Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services (DYRS) during 2001 are provided. This report is comprised of the following sections: introduction; measuring recidivism; offender characteristics; recidivism measures -- time to recidivism, re-arrest rate by demographic characteristics, re-arrest rate of first time and repeat offenders, and re-arrest by number of prior arrests; and data sources. Overall, the re-arrest recidivism rate at three years is 68% while the rate is 77% at five years.
