ANNOTATION: The degree to which sex offender recidivism is affected by community notification is investigated. Sections of this report include: executive summary; introduction; literature review; data and methodology; results for three-year recidivism rates by groups, overall recidivism rates by first risk level assignment, comparison of notification and pre-notification group offenders, time to sex offense recidivism, time to non-sex offense recidivism, and time to general recidivism; discussion; and conclusion.
