Publication year: 2008 | Cataloged on: Aug. 20, 2008
ANNOTATION: The re-entry process for Arizona inmates is explained. These overheads show how Getting Ready, the Arizona Department of Corrections program to transition prisoners back into the community begins at intake and continues throughout the sentence. Phases of Getting Ready include: 5x5 Intake and Classification; 7x3x3 Pre-Release Preparations (7 days a week, 3 parts to each day, 3 tiered system of earned incentives); Transition-Specific Planning; and Parallel Universe. Since Getting Ready was begun in Fiscal Year 2004, there has been a 35% reduction in recidivism (involving new crimes) and a 5% reduction in revocation.
