Washington's Offender Accountability Act: Department of Corrections' Static Risk Instrument. Rev. [ed.]
Publication year:
2007
| Cataloged on:
Nov. 26, 2008
ANNOTATION: The validity of the Washington State Department of Corrections' risk assessment instrument is investigated. This report includes these sections: summary; background; methodology; what "static" and "dynamic" risk are; offender risk factors in prediction equations; classification rules for risk levels; cross-validation results for recidivism; and conclusions. "Analyses indicate that the static risk instrument has moderate predictive accuracy for Washington State felony offenders . . . [and] the risk classification scheme can be generalized to future cohorts of offenders with little loss in accuracy" (p. 1).
