Stress and the Effects of Working in a High Security Prison

ANNOTATION: The impact on correctional staffs' professional and personal lives due to working in high security prisons is investigated. Sections of this study include: abstract; introduction; literature review -- stress, work-family conflict and support; methodology; data analysis; and conclusions and recommendations. "This research has concluded that the average male correctional officer from these four (4) high security institutions is less stressed than his correctional worker counter part and that of a female correctional officer" (p. 33).
