ANNOTATION: An evaluation of the Restorative Justice Living Unit (RJU), Canada's first such unit in a correctional facility, is provided. Sections comprising this report include: executive summary; introduction; method; results; discussion regarding attitudinal effects, behavioral effects, effect on parole hearing/release into community, limitations; and conclusion and recommendations. "This study suggests that RJ [restorative justice] within a prison environment shows promise and may yield benefits to offenders, particularly in terms of attitude and behavioral motivation" (p. iii).
