ANNOTATION: The "various impacts of community notification and registration laws (Megan's Law) in New Jersey" are examined (p. 1). Sections comprising this report include: executive summary; introduction; Phase One -- the trend study; Phase Two -- sex offender outcome study; Phase Three -- cost study; and project summary. It appears that Megan's Law does not decrease the rates of new first-time sex offenses or repeat sex offenders.
