Women Offenders' Institutional Behavior: The Impact of Correctional Environment

Publication year: 2007 | Cataloged on: Aug. 25, 2009
ANNOTATION: The potential impact of correctional environmental factors that contribute to "involvement in institutional misconducts [that are] higher for women offenders at higher security classifications and placements than for their counterparts at lower security levels" is examined (p. iv). This report has these sections -- executive summary, introduction, method, results for sample characteristics and rates of involvement in institutional misconducts, and discussion. It appears that individual-level factors influence violent behavior, not the correctional environment.
