Thumbnail preview ANNOTATION: Results from the second evaluation of the Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative (SVORI), a large multi-site collection of state and local programs are presented. Sections of this report include: executive summary; introduction; current study—data and methods; subject characteristics; results for adult males and for adult females according to housing, employment, victimization, compliance with supervision requirements, drug use, recidivism, summary and discussion; results for juvenile males by housing, employment, victimization, drug use, and recidivism; economic evaluation for adult males; and discussion and policy implications. “The effect of SVORI program participation was beneficial and statistically significant for all three demographic groups – associated with longer times to arrest and with fewer arrests during fixed follow-up periods. Results were weaker for the effects of SVORI on post-release reincarceration” (p. ES-5).
