Mortality In Local Jails And State Prisons, 2000-2010 - Statistical Tables
Statistics about the 4,150 inmate deaths occurring in local jails and state prisons during 2000-2010 are presented. Some of the findings show that most inmates expired in state prisons (78%) with suicide being the leading cause of death in jails and cancer being the most common in prisons.
