National Prison Rape Elimination Commission

The National Prison Rape Elimination Commission is a bipartisan, nine-member commission charged with recommending standards to enhance detection, prevention, reduction, and punishment of inmate sexual assault.

The Commission has completed its work on PREA recommendations and forwarded a final report to the Attornery General in June 2009.
