Overview
Correctional agencies continue to be challenged with severe budget cuts. Everyone feels the crunch. All is not lost. You are invited to participate in the National Institute of Corrections one-hour live online training, Corrections Budgets in Free Fall-Time for Action! to be held April 14, 2011 at 9 a.m MT. The session will be packed with information that may well provide assistance and direction in navigating current budget realities.
In these times of economic crisis, learn what you can do to regain control of your corrections budget at NIC’s latest virtual instructor-led training program.
You will be asked to commit to full participation in the scheduled online session (60 minutes) and to complete any pre-session work (20 additional minutes).
Objectives
The training event explores the following four core areas:
- Factors that have contributed to the current fiscal crisis in corrections.
- Long-term strategies for managing operations effectively using evidence-based practices.
- Models that maximize the use of public resources while maintaining public safety.
- Strategies for identifying partnerships for accessing community resources to address challenges
Audience
Applicants for this training event should be administrators and managers from local, state and federal adult and juvenile justice agencies who have responsibility within their agency for the development and management of fiscal resources.
