Program Start Date

The Correctional Case Management for Jails is a 40-hour training for up to 30 people which has been designed for classification, intake, counseling and other inmate services staff who are responsible for accessing inmates, providing routine services to inmates or who respond to the needs of inmates.

The training will familiarize participants to the fundamentals of correctional case management in jails, review the stages of case management, emphasize the importance of standardized documentation in the delivery of jail services and the role intake and classification staff plays from intake screening throughout the discharge planning process to reentry back to the community.

We want staff to know “the inmate’s story” so that they may intervene with the inmate when difficult situations or thoughts arise. We want the inmate to be aware of all facets of the criminal justice system which will impact their stay in our facilities.  We want inmate service providers to speak and document in the same language in jails across the country.
