Description of the Program

Crisis Intervention Teams training (CITs) will help reduce crises, improve safety, and promote better outcomes for persons with serious mental illness and trauma histories. This 40-hour training will provide tools, strategies, and techniques for implementing CIT programs in prisons across the state, which improves safety, promotes better outcomes, and address several issues.

The 40-hr training will be proceeded by an on-site assessment, which includes a meeting with executive staff, training officials, and a tour of the training site.
