Description of the Program

This Program has completed

Thank you for your interest in this training program. Please contact us if you would like to see similar programs held in the future.

Our focus will be on the first-of-its-kind Behavioral Care Center (BCC), which opened in 2020. Decriminalization of people with mental illness is its goal. We will hear from Sheriff Daron Hall and the BCC staff about their 60- bed, state-licensed treatment program that is offered to qualifying arrestees. Once a resident meets all program requirements, he/she is released with no existing charges, criminal prosecution, probation, etc., and always has a place to go and someone to get them there (they are never released directly to the streets).
