The National Institute of Corrections' Veterans Network is proud to announce its first annual virtual conference highlighting the experiences of veterans involved in the criminal justice system. The webinar will focus on the most up to date information and interventions about veterans in the system, with an emphasis on the sequential intercept model (SIM) and real world applications of that model.
Who should attend
Law enforcement, courts, corrections, and any programs or interventions working with veterans involved in the criminal justice system.
When will the virtual conference sessions be held?
April 17, 2025 from 1om to 5pm Eastern Time
This session will focus on:
SIM 0,1,2 Community services/Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, and Initial Detention/Initial court hearing.
In addition to the SIM models there will be a focus on Work Force Development with veterans involved in the system.
May 22, 2025 from 1om to 5pm Eastern Time
This session will focus on:
SIM 3,4 Jails/Courts and Reentry.
With an additional session on prevention of suicide among veterans involved in the system.
June 26, 2025 from 1om to 5pm Eastern Time
This session will focus on:
SIM 5 Community Corrections/ Community Support.
With an additional session on veteran’s homelessness.
Some NIC programs utilize NIC's Learn Center.
