Leading with Insight: Cultivating Self-Awareness for Effective Leadership (2024 Winter ACA Conference)

As organizations increasingly adopt hybrid work models, leaders face unique challenges in managing and engaging teams. While alternative work models can have the benefit of reducing overhead costs and expanding talent pools, among a leader’s chief concerns are being able to keep people connected and ensuring that technology works. In an interactive workshop titled Leading with Insight, the National Institute of Corrections will show you how the crucial leadership competency of self-awareness can help you navigate the complexities of hybrid environments.

Session attendees will explore strategies to enhance their self-awareness, improve communication, and foster team cohesion, regardless of physical location. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of self-awareness and its influence on leadership effectiveness in hybrid settings.
  • Identify their own personal leadership style, including their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop a personalized action plan to enhance self-awareness and improve team dynamics.

This session will be available at the American Correctional Association Winter Conference 2025.
