The Jail System

Florida has 67 counties. According to surveys completed in 2013, there are 104 jail and adult detention facilities, with a population of 52,430 inmates.

The Prison System

As of December 31, 2015, the Florida prison population was 101,424. In Fiscal Year 2015-16, the Florida Department of Corrections operated 149 facilities and employed nearly 22,000 people.

The Community Corrections System

The Department of Community Corrections within the Florida Department of Corrections currently supervises more than 168,000 offenders through 130 probation offices.
