The Prison System

As of December 31, 2019, the number of prisoners under the jurisdiction of the State of Idaho correctional authorities was 9,437 located in 10 state prisons and held in custody of private prisons or local jails. Idaho operated facilities had a staff of 1,960 employees and a budget of $267,340,209.

The Community Corrections System

As of December 31, 2019, Idaho community corrections population was 35,516 under probation and 5,122 under parole.

Violent and property crime rates are provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The number of counties per state comes from the United States Census Bureau.
