As of December 31, 2020, the number of prisoners under the jurisdiction of the State of Alabama correctional authorities was 25,344 located in 15 state prisons and held in custody of private prisons or local jails. State operated facilities had a budget of $563,432,390.
The Community Corrections System
As of December 31, 2020, the Alabama community corrections population was 3,054.
