The Prison and Jail System
Vermont has a unified system which means there is an integrated state-level prison and jail system. There are six states with unified systems.They are: Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
As of December 31, 2021, Vermont has 14 counties and 6 facilities with an incarcerated population of 1,287. There are 1,016 staff positions with a budget of $166,853,014.
The Community Corrections System
As of December 31, 2021, Texas community corrections population was 2,684 under probation and 829 under parole.
