Webinar Summary:
Opioid use has reached epidemic proportions in the United States, and the prevalence of opioid use disorder (OUD) is disproportionally represented in incarcerated adults. Join Commander Trey Draude, National Lead for the Federal Bureau of Prisons Substance Use Disorder Pharmacy Consultants, and Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Gossett, Opioid Treatment Program Director at Federal Medical Center, Lexington, as they demonstrate strategies for expanding access to OUD treatment in the correctional setting. Participants will learn how to incorporate disease management into routine care while applying the unique skills of a multidisciplinary correctional healthcare team.
This webinar is part of the National Institute of Corrections Clinical Pearls series. The series explores how to integrate clinical pharmacists into primary care. Session participants will learn how to identify best practices for carceral team medicine and clinical pearls in disease states affecting adults in custody.

Educator Bios
Commander Trey Draude
CDR Trey Draude graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 2015. He started his career in the BOP as a staff pharmacist at FCC Petersburg and later completed a PGY1 Residency at FCC Butner NC in 2018. He has served as an HIV regional consultant for the South-Central Region and currently serves as the National Lead Substance Use Disorder Clinical Pharmacist Consultant for the BOP. Currently, he manages a comprehensive clinic with a focus on Opioid Use Disorder as an Advanced Practice Pharmacists at FCC Butner’s Opioid Treatment Program.
Lieutenant Commander Gossett
LCDR Gossett earned her PharmD from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2010 and was commissioned into US Public Health Service in 2021. She currently works as a Pharmacist at FMC Lexington, focusing on OUD treatment under a Collaborative Practice Agreement. LCDR Gossett manages MAT referrals, oversees the MAT screening process, and is the OTP Program Director for the institution.
