The Jail System

Oregon has 36 counties. According to surveys completed in 2013, there are 37 jail and adult detention facilities, with a population of 5,630 inmates.

The Prison System

As of December 31, 2015, the Oregon prison population was 15,245. As of January 2017, the Oregon Department of Corrections had 4,526 employees and a budget for the FY2015-17 biennium of $1.6 billion.

The Community Corrections System

As of January 2017, there were 15,304 felony probationers and 13,337 post-prison offenders under community supervision.
