The Prison System
As of December 31, 2019, the number of prisoners under the jurisdiction of Wyoming correctional authorities was 2,479 located in 5 state prisons and held in custody of private prisons or local jails. State operated facilities had a staff of 1,240 employees and a budget of $276,690,729.
The Community Corrections System
As of December 31, 2019, Wyoming's community corrections population was 5,569 under probation and 968 under parole.
