Alix McLearen
Dr. Alix McLearen is a highly experienced clinical psychologist and government official with over 20 years of experience in government and law enforcement. She recently served as Acting Assistant Director for the BOP’s Reentry Services Division and received the BOP’s Myrl E. Alexander Award for her innovative approaches to corrections. At the start of 2023, she was appointed as Acting Director of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) by the U.S. Attorney General, where her priority is to address the agency's budgetary status, staffing shortages, and other resource shortages, while expanding its customer base and agency footprint. Known for her commitment to service and excellence, Director McLearen is an advocate for NIC and its role in providing service and technical assistance to federal, state, local, and tribal jurisdictions.
