R.E.S.T.O.R.E. is a nonprofit organization aimed at helping formerly incarcerated women through the provision of transitional housing. “We were deeply honored to welcome Kendall Rhyne, National Programs Advisor with the Community Services Division of the National Institute of Corrections, to R.E.S.T.O.R.E.,” the organization said in a statement.

“We had the opportunity to share the heart of our mission as we toured our transitional homes and step-up programs. [NIC’s] genuine interest in learning more about how we serve justice-impacted women with excellence, compassion, and dignity was both encouraging and inspiring. Conversations like these remind us of the importance of connection, collaboration, and continuing the work of building restorative pathways for those reentering our communities.

“We’re excited about what the future may hold and remain hopeful about new opportunities to build meaningful partnerships that advance our shared vision for second chances,” the organization continued.

The National Institute of Corrections is working with residential reentry centers and halfway houses throughout the country to identify areas of needed operational improvement, enhance use, and identify best practices for these critical community resources.
