The Oklahoma Department of Corrections requested Working with Women 101 training for staff at both of their female facilities and selected staff at headquarters. The training was opened with remarks from Chief of Operations Jason Sparks, Deputy Chief of Operations Kelli Davis, and Administrator of Risk Management Natalie Cooper. 

One attendee described the training as follows: "This training marks a key step forward in how we serve justice-involved women across Oklahoma. It’s not just another checkbox on a training calendar. It’s a deliberate shift in how we think, respond, and lead." 

Another attendee said, “By investing in this training, we’re investing in better corrections—corrections that recognizes the full picture and responds accordingly. This is the beginning of something better, and I’m proud that Oklahoma is leading the charge.” 

The breakdown of participants was as follows: 

  • Mabel Bassett Corrections Center: 20 participants
  • Eddie Warrior Corrections Center: 20 participants
  • Headquarters Staff: 6 participants
