Program will begin based on availability between NIC and your agency.
NIC is accepting Technical Assistance applications for regional, onsite training, of the program Evidence Informed Practices in the Management of Women's Prison.
Correctional senior-level leaders, managing women’s prisons, face significant challenges regarding gender-informed facility operations, policy and procedure, and the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and services. The 32-hour training agenda is designed with reliable and valid learning modules including medical, mental health, legal, communication styles and inappropriate sexual behavior to engage participants in the strategies for effective change. The training includes interactive material that helps clarify significant differences while avoiding an over-identification of issues that may be common to male and female populations.
The target audience: are senior level leaders/managers from all Divisions, within women's institutions.
As part of the agency application review, a readiness protocol identifying the challenges and the goal of the training request may be requested.
Note: Although the program start date on this page says 1/1/2027, this program will take place at a time your agency coordinates with NIC sometime in 2027. January 1, 2027 is only a placeholder date for the purposes of our website.
Please also download and fill out this form. You will be asked to attach it on the application page.
