Description of the Program

Correctional senior-level leaders, managing women’s prisons, face significant challenges regarding gender-informed facility operations, policy and procedure, and the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and services.  The 32-hour training agenda is designed with reliable and valid learning modules including medical, mental health, legal, communication styles and inappropriate sexual behavior. Systemic and cultural issues are explored to engage participants in the strategies for effective change.

The target audience, for the training are teams of two from four agencies, representing senior level leaders/managers from any Divisions, within a women's institutions.

Selected candidates will participate in the training at the site of a host agency, with NIC paying the travel and lodging expenses.

You will be required to complete application, through the NIC website no later than December 1, 2026.
