With the use of electronic devices comes the opportunity for the facility to conduct additional surveillance on incarcerated people and their communications, their reading, and any other tasks they undertake on the tablet. Another concern with the integration of tablets is that they can be seen by facility administration as a replacement for snail mail, print books, or in-person visits.
