Kevin Jones has over 36 years of public service in law enforcement and corrections with prior service as a military police and correctional supervisor. He holds five national executive-level certifications from the American Correctional Association (Certified Corrections Executive), National Sheriffs’ Association (Certified Jail Executive), American Jail Association (Certified Jail Manager), National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (Certified Correctional Health Professional), and National Institute of Jail Operations (National Certified Corrections Executive). Mr. Jones has served in various leadership roles, including as a Board of Directors member for the American Jail Association, Past President of the South Carolina Jail Administrators’ Association, past member of South Carolina Local Detention Committee, past member of Lexington Community Mental Health Board, former Director of the Kershaw County and Lexington County Detention Centers in South Carolina, Charles B. Webster Detention Center in Georgia, and previously served as a Certified Auditor for the American Correctional Association (ACA) with the responsibility of inspecting correctional agencies for compliance with ACA performance based standards.

Mr. Jones’ current portfolio includes leading the Jail Standards and Inspector Initiative, facilitation of the Institute for Jail Administration, providing training for jail inspectors and a peer-training network for chief jail inspectors, coordinating the Centers for Disease Control/NIC Collaborative Field Guide Initiative to address HIV, Hepatitis, and STD in correctional settings, serving as a Liaison to the American Jail Association, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and the South Carolina Jail Administrators’ Association and acting as the Technical Assistance Coordinator for detention centers in the southeast region.
